The Throne- Watch The Throne

Right from the beginning of Watch the Throne you get the same burst of creativity you expect from a Kanye album and the lyrical talent of a Jay-Z album. I am not surprised that the clash of these two rap titans results in the greatness that is Watch the Throne. The first song that really caught me was the single “Otis” that samples the late Otis Redding’s smash hit “Try A Little Tenderness.” The thing about The Throne is that even though it features both artists on all of the tracks it is pretty clear that almost all the songs are more Kanye than Jay- Z. I enjoyed Watch the Throne for the most part and I love the overall flow with the exception of a handful of poor transitions. It is definitely not a perfect album but it gets pretty close to being right up there with the individual artists’ best work.  All in all I think if you have been waiting for this release you will not be disappointed.
